ChurchVine LLC ("ChurchVine", "we", "us", or "our") operates the ChurchVine church management platform, accessible at churchvine.church. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our platform or when a church ("Tenant") uses ChurchVine to manage its congregation.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: Name, email address, and password for staff and administrator accounts.
- Member data: Churches collect and store member information (names, phone numbers, addresses, family details) on behalf of their congregation. ChurchVine processes this data as a service provider to the church.
- Usage data: Log data, browser type, pages visited, and feature usage to improve the platform.
- Payment information: Billing details processed securely through Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
3. SMS and Mobile Messaging
ChurchVine enables churches to send SMS messages to their congregation members for pastoral care, service reminders, event notifications, and administrative communication.
Your mobile phone number and mobile messaging information will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
SMS messages are sent only to individuals whose phone numbers have been provided directly to their church. Recipients may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance.
Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies by church.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the ChurchVine platform
- To send transactional and service-related messages
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To improve platform features and performance
- To comply with legal obligations
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with:
- Service providers: Cloud hosting, email delivery, SMS providers, and payment processors who help us operate the platform, under confidentiality obligations.
- The church (Tenant): Member data belongs to the church that collected it. ChurchVine processes it on the church's behalf.
- Legal compliance: When required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
We do not share mobile or SMS opt-in information with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage, access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
7. Data Retention
We retain data for as long as a church's account is active or as needed to provide services. Churches may request deletion of their tenant data by contacting us. We will comply within 30 days subject to legal obligations.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. Contact your church administrator for member data requests, or contact us directly for account data.
9. Children's Privacy
ChurchVine is a business platform intended for church staff. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 directly. Churches are responsible for appropriate handling of children's data within their account.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify account administrators of material changes via email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
